The PetroBowl is an annual and biggest international petroleum competition for students. Joined by SPE student chapter teams from all around the world, they compete against each other in a series of quick-fire rounds answering technical and non-technical industry-related questions. The contest has grown in size and popularity since 2002 and was taken globally with the introduction of six regional contests in 2015. Regional qualifier competitions now take place in the Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, South America and Caribbean, Middle East, and North America SPE regions. Each region will select up to 5 teams to represent them at the PetroBowl Championship at Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE), and a total of 32 places are available for the 2019 Championship. ATCE itself is SPE’s flagship annual meeting of members and features groundbreaking papers and special technical events designed to accelerate the application of innovations in every technical discipline. Attendees come from around the world to keep up with the latest technologies, industry best practices, and new product launches. More than 300 technical presentations will be conducted and special sessions on relevant industry topics with more than 5,000 industry attendees.
