SPE ITB SC has conducted a company visit to Halliburton Indonesia, one of the biggest oil field service companies in the world, on Wednesday (07/11/18), which was done to enrich the knowledge of 27 participants of the visit. The company offers a broad array of products and services to help oil and gas customers through fourteen product service lines, which is Artificial Lift, Cementing, Completion Tools, Baroid, Multi-Chem, Pipeline & Process Services, Production Improvement, Production Solutions, Drill Bits & Services, Landmark Software & Services, and Consulting & Project Management. Founded in 1919, Halliburton has operated in more than 70 countries with hundreds of subsidiaries, brands, and affiliates worldwide, with Halliburton Indonesia as one of them. The company resides on Halliburton Indonesia Office, Kawasan Industri & Pergudangan Taman Tekno Blok D No.1 Sektor XI BSD City, Tangerang Selatan.
Participants headed to the office at 3.30AM by bus and arrived at 8.00AM. All participants received security check and access card, which allows them to be identified easily as visitors. After that, Baroid Country Manager, Mr. Jason Scorsone, gave an opening speech and safety induction. This is done to avoid any problems that can be caused by having visitors. Later on, they received a sharing session by Mr. Arga Purwanto, Global Technical Advisor of Halliburton, who talks about the company’s profile, details regarding drilling fluid, and completion fluid.
After the sharing session concluded, participants continue to Lab Tour and received a session by Ms. Rosa Saptawati, Laboratory Manager, regarding mud mixing simulation, in which the participants were separated into three groups of 8-10 people in order to allow enough people inside the laboratory. Later after lunch, the visit continued with another sharing session with Mr. Joni Sofian, about geothermal drilling fluid and its challenges.
The visit ended on 4PM by group photo session and memento handover. The participants returned to Bandung on 4.30PM and finally arrived at 10.00PM. (NP)
