Career Opportunities and Well Engineering Overview

On 16th of September 2016, SPE ITB SC held a guest lecture with BP. The topic is “Career Opportunities and Well Engineering Overview”, which is divided into two sessions. The first session is “Role of Women in Well Activities” and the second session is “Career Overview from BP”. The speakers are Mrs. Ulani Saripulono and Mrs. Dianawaty for the first session, and for the second session the speaker is Mr. Agung Nugroho. Total participant is 124 who have registered and sent their CV. The participants who came to this event, was not only from PE, but also from geology, chemistry engineering, geophysic, ocean engineering and school of business management majors. The guest lecture was held in Auditorium of East CC, Bandung Institute of Technology.

On the first session, Mrs. Ulani Saripulono as Resourcing Lead Indonesia opened the session by playing a video about BP. The video showed about BP’s company profile and the values that they want to apply in their company. Then Mrs. Dianawaty who was graduated from Petroleum Engineering ITB shared her experience as a challenger of drilling engineering in BP. She told us that women who work in drilling well is not as hard as what most people see, and BP itself  is very welcome for women who want to work in drilling well department.

For the second session, Mr. Agung Nugroho brought the “BP Drilling” topic. He delivered the challenges of drilling nowadays and also shared drilling career overview in BP. He also shared his experience which he has already done since 20 years ago until now on drilling department in BP.

After the presentation, there is a question and answer session. There were a lot of participants who raised their hands up and asked some questions. The participants showed their interest in this event. The event was closed by photo session with all participants, speakers, and committee.
