COMPANY VISIT TO INPEX

JAKARTA, speitbsc.org – On August 31st, 2018, SPE ITB SC has successfully conducted the first company visit of this year’s stewardship to Inpex. This visit was intended to build the relationship between SPE ITB SC and Inpex in order to bring more collaboration in the future. Located in TCC Batavia Tower Jakarta, this visit began with the presentation from HSE (Health, safety, and Environment) by Mrs. Niken Suprapto. As an oil and gas company dealing with high-risk activities on daily basis, safety is the number one core value that this company upholds. Mrs.Niken also explained about major accidents that can happen in this industry.

the presentation proceeded with an overview of Abadi LNG Project in Masela Block. Masala block is located in the Arafura Sea in Tanimbar island, Saumlaki district. Discovered in 1998, this project is the first for Inpex as an operator in Indonesia. Since 2011, Inpex acquired the contract to manage this block with the biggest participating interest. Because of the complex and large-scale nature of this project, the plan of development (POD) is still running until now with several revised POD and on-going discussion with Indonesia authorities to achieve a cost-efficient and economically competitive project. Right now, Inpex is on the pre-front-end engineering and design (FEED) work stage. a series of subsequent evaluations including front-end engineering and design (FEED) work will be carried out leading to a final investment decision (FID). The step will be in the form of pre-FEED – FEED – pre-FID – FID – Construction. Currently, Inpex is planned to submit the revised POD in November 16th, 2018. Masela Block also will have the biggest floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit in Indonesia. This project is a part of national strategy project (Proyek Strategi Nasional) and is expected to supply gas demand in the nearby area since it is located in remote area.

After that, the presentation continued by HR. currently there is two kind of vacancies, apprenticeship and college intern. Apprenticeship is aimed for fresh graduate and will last for 6 months. College intern is for college student searching for experience or to do their practical work program and will last for 1-3 months. Last, SPE ITB SC shared our work program and give an explanation about possible cooperation with Inpex in the future.
